Our Mission

We aim to enhance the development and early years education of preschool children in a parent- involving, community led group. We provide a secure and stimulating environment where enjoyment and learning go hand in hand and work with equality of opportunity for all children and families. We offer a curriculum leading to nationally approved learning outcomes, a wide variety of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual care and attention made possible by our high ration of adults to children plus the support of a keyperson and individual learning plans. Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable and accessible childcare to children aged 2 to 5 in a safe and supportive environment, and to work in close partnership with parents and carers in the provision of this childcare.
Our Story

Our Story

Chestnut Trees Preschool is a charity offering early education for families in and around Shrivenham for over 45 years. We follow the curriculum of The Early Years Foundation Stage, leading to nationally approved leaning outcomes which prepare children to progress with confidence to Primary School. We are housed in the historic Memorial Hall in the centre of Shrivenham Village, with an attached garden and an allotment for outdoor learning.

Our Team

We have 4 permanent members of staff, an admin co-ordinator and a volunteer Committee Management team.
